Pandurang Purushottam Shirodkar
Pandurang Purushottam Shirodkar born in Indian state of Goa on 12 December 1916.
- He studied Law in Portuguese India.Worked as an editor with Navashakti daily in Mumbai
- Participated actively in Goa's struggle for freedom,was in exile in in Africa and Portugal for many years.
- Elected as first speaker of Goa Assembly[1].
- He has been a member of the Indian National Congress and was a prominent figure in the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party[2].
- Translated Bal Gangadhar Tilak's Shrimadbhagwadgeetarahasya into Portuguese.
- Authored many books in Marathi,Konkani,English and Portuguese.
